 First Thing First- These are not over-ear headphones as mentioned in some websites, but on-ear. Difference- in simple words- Over-ear headphones completely covers your ears while on-ear headphones rests on your ear. Both have their merits and demerits. While Over-ear headphones are costlier and provides better noise isolation, On-ear headphones are comparatively cheaper and are portable. So our Philips DJ SHL 3000/00 is an on-ear headphone.

MRP @ 999INR, I think these are the most affordable with no compromise in the quality headphone available in the market today . Though the MRP is 999, you can get it at much cheaper price through online shopping websites.

Frequency range= 10-20000 Hz (lower the frequency- deeper the bass; higher the frequency- clearer the sound)(20-20000 Hz is standard)

Sensitivity = 106 dB (higher the sensitivity greater the loudness/volume)(recommended=110-120)

Noise isolation = -8 dB )(anything above -20 dB is good but at this price range, minus8dB is impressive)

VOLUME OUTPUT/LOUDNESS

Generally headphones are meant for PCs and High-End Smart phones which has high power output. If you use any headphone with low power output device, you can-not get decent volume. If you experience low audio output from your headphone when using it with your mobile, try using it with your laptop/desktop.

So, when given proper output, this headphone is pretty loud.

BASS & Sound Quality

Bass is average. Treble is good.

But by tweaking the equalizer settings of your PC and Smartphone you can produce pretty decent bass.

For android devices use power-amp app from play store for the best bass experience.

Overall sound quality is very good.

COMFORT

Its soft spongy cushion adds pleasure to the music experience. One can listen to hours without any problem. Sweating is minimal and it does not hurt the ears even at high volumes.

Wire length  is 1.2 meters which is enough for mobile and laptop use + Philips has provided flat wires which are tangle free. It has 3.5 mm jack which is compatible with most mobiles and laptops.

FINAL VERDICT

It’s the best stylish headphone offered by a brand. (Simple & Funky)

Philips is a known brand in music and you won't get disappointed with it.

When a light weight headphone along with comfortable cushions, decent bass, great treble, decent wire length and quality sound gets available with a price tag of ₹689, I don't think there is any reason not to buy it.
